I will not start this script by honest story about ASEAN, because I know something important that needed by ASEAN is real action to get the best more. Thinking and acting offcourse would show how big the role of youth in building the ASEAN.
As Asian people, especially Indonesian, not too much knowledge that have I known about ASEAN. I am as a minor parts of Indonesian people, just to know that our nation is a part of that international association. I know it from social science in fifth class at elementary school. It is so ironic to an Asian’s child that have not known what ASEAN must be built and the function of it, for us especially.
This misunderstanding make the minimum of the role of Asian’s youth in our country. If I have a chance to participate there, I just want to know....is this ASEAN?. Making clear the ASEAN in our mind, not only as a shadow that will be lost when the class is over but also ASEAN as real Association South East Asian Nations.
Formerly, I have big question in my mind why so many countries want to join this association which was built at five pioneer countries in bangkok, Muangthai (5-8 august 1967). My first impression at the time, ASEAN is an exclusive organization which can make the member of it have a big pride.
And then, I knew that ASEAN not only as introduction nation site identity but more of that. ASEAN firstly is built on base of meeting result by five minister of state in bangkok 5-8 august 1967. They are from Indonesia, Malaysia, Muangthai/Thailand, Singapore, dan Fhilipine. The aims is to keep good cooperation among all of south-east asia countries and improve area which shares in prosperity. Especially in politic, economic, and security stabilization south-east asia countries. All of joint sectors in ASEAN countries is include: tourism, food, foresty, fishery, animall husbandry, transportation and communication, financial, and then mining industry dan energy sector.
The ASEAN built is depend on Asian countries together to make joint among all of south east Asian nations which hawe same situation in historic to try up and growth together to keep ASEAN stabilization and show to the intenational worlds that we have sovereignty that must respected. It’s not apart from the youth bravery to look into all type of imperialism in south-east Asian nations.
Talking about the role of youth in building the ASEAN Community 2015,I i must really to think hard the answer because I have known that ASEAN as exclussive organization, almost of the staff is contained by adult people. Untill I know that the real youth is not ordinary definition by his/her age. Possitive and dinamic think and foccuse to the future will make people always likes a youth because always have fresh idea about something. This thinking should be had by each youth that want to be real agent of change. It is to change something bad to be well and something well will be more better. In this step youth people have big responsible to do as a role of youth in building excelent characteristic to prepare the ASEAN Community 2015.
In future, the role of youth in building the ASEAN community 2015, it might be so essential to face globalization challenge. The youth must have potential human resourse because the future of nation, culture, an ASEAN to grow better in their hand. We know that a country which have ability to take competition will be survive, as same situation to build health Asean community 2015. We must prepare as welll as possible to be youth generation who have all of ability to do the best for our self, our country, an our ASEAN in general.
Building the ASEAN Community 2015 is one excelent step to make our dreams come true. Build a ASEAN be better and have fuction in order to make prosperity and friendship in Asia countries always keep on.
Let’s display our youth spirit to get the ASEAN better with ASEAN Community 2015!!!
